What an Amazing Week!

 Good morning parents,

Wow, what a day yesterday was! I was so incredibly proud of all the children...they were absolutely amazing. So reverent and respectful and I definitely had the proud tears during our Communion Reflection!

Thank you so much for supporting the students, they all looked amazing!

A massive thank you to Vanessa Hodge for the beautiful welcoming sign...I felt it really set the tone for the day.

We will come together as a group on Friday morning 13th November at 10am in the hall to present the students with their certificate. We will also have the chance to have a cup of tea and the students will enjoy a cupcake kindly baked by Misty Hearne! I look forward to seeing you there if you are able to make it!

If you have any photos from the weekend and are happy to share them I would love to have you email them through so I can share them!

I was also lucky enough to spend part of my weekend down in gorgeous Hamelin Bay...I haven't stayed there before, only passed through and it was absolutely amazing...it looked a lot like this! That's my daughter out there absolutely towelling up the bowlers...she gets it from me!

The last week was absolutely wonderful, the weather was gorgeous but not only that we had some great opportunities for lots of walking and prayerful reflection.

On Friday, we attended the Adoration that Fr Francis organised. This was a beautiful opportunit for the students to take some time out of their week to express their gratitude and respect for the blessings in their lives. Like everything else...they participated in this with great care and reverence.

Continuing the theme of celebrations, this week we are celebrating NAIDOC Week. The theme this year is Always Was, Always Will Be… recognises that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people have occupied and cared for this continent for over 65,000 years.

We will spend some time this week learning more about NAIDOC Week and its significance with a particular focus on our local area.

We will also come together as a whole school on Wednesday 11th November for a special Remembrance Day assembly that is organised by Mr Jones and 5J. As part of their homework this week, students were given the option to make a poppy to wear to school on Wednesday if they would like to.

REMINDERS - WEEK 5

Eucharist Certificates & Cupcakes - Friday 13th November at 10am.

Missing Books/Torn/Damaged Books - Coming into the last few weeks of term...some of of our exercise books are barely hanging on! Whilst I understand your reluctance to purchase any addditional stationery items coming in to Christmas...we do have a large number of students with books (full of work that have gone missing or are damaged beyond use) If this is the case for your child, can you please send in an extra book or two. Our supplies are all gone.

Assesments - Students are welcome to take home their books to review!

  • Religion Test - Thursday 12th November.
  • Fractions Test - Friday 13th November
Uthando Dolls - Is back to its usual time of 1.45 - 2.45pm on Thursday afternoon. This week, our goal is to ensure all hair is firmly secured, eyes and mouths are securely sewn on and we are moving on to making undies!

We are so appreciative of all of the helpers so far...moving into clothing is always tricky and requires smaller groups so we would love to have you if you are free!

Free Dress - Naturaliste won the token tally this first 5 weeks so they are welcome to wear free dress this Friday. If you can remind them we will be doing sport so appropriate footwear is vital!

HOMEWORK - WEEK 5

In checking your child's homework tonight, you will notice a new grid with some different activities. Something that has dropped off markedly is the checking of the words each night...if you can please make sure that they are doing this first and then you are doing it so that your child is not repeating their mistake all week!

Please make sure they are completing the following:

  • Spelling - LCWC and 3 sentences
  • Reading - 10-15 minutes each night
  • Tables Practice
  • Champion Life - Completing 2 challenges per week.

Thank you again for a great weekend!

Mrs Delane
