Week 4 Update!

Image
Good afternoon, Welcome to another great week in 4DEL! A short update this week! Last week was a busy one but the kids were such troopers rolling with all the different events that we had on. I am looking forward to a more settled week this week so that we can continue with our great work! I would like to thank all our amazing grandparents (and parents) that came in for our first Grandparents Day in a couple of years...it was SO lovely to have the school filled with visitors and I loved watching the students proudly showing their grandparents around our room.  It seems that the Roll-A- Grandpa/Grandma was quite a hit and I hope that those pictures made it home and go straight to the pool room! I took photos of as many families as I could, these are on our Teams for you to look at. I would very much like to commend the students of 4DEL for their kindness and care towards their PPB buddies on Wednesday as we walked down to Church.  The students did you proud by being very attending and w

Good afternoon! What a day...isn't it amazing how re-energising some sun can be..it has been a good drying day as my Nan used to say.  Whilst hanging my third load of washing I spent a pleasant couple of minutes observing the bees humming around one of the plants in our garden...thank goodness for bees! A few reminders for this week... Haircuts & Uniforms - Most students are through the changeover and enjoying the simple summer wear but can I please remind you about hair styles. I mentioned this in my post before the holidays but I still have a number of students coming with their hair past their collar or covering their faces as well as wearing all sorts of different coloured hair elastics and ribbons in their hair.  As per our current policy, hair that falls below the collar of the white shirt or summer dress must be tied back neatly, in a style that will last the day.  Fringes that cover your child's face must also be pinned back securely in a way that will also last th

Good afternoon, Welcome to the week! I hope that you enjoyed the weekend, especially those that got to see Mr Danaher in action at the Quiz Night on Saturday...from all accounts, it was quite the show and I am sad that I missed it!  The pirate video I was sent will just have to do! On Wednesday, we had a fantastic afternoon down at our Cultural Space with Josh Whiteland listening and learning about our area.  After spending some time cleaning up the space and exploring, we looked at the different changes we are seeing in our environment, particularly the plants, animals and changes in conditions.  We also learnt about some of the traditional tools that were used in hunting and the children enjoyed sketching the symbols on them whilst Josh explained what they meant...we then had the pleasure of listening to Josh play the didgeridoo and drums whilst the girls and then the boys learnt and performed a traditional dance. The students were very curious and respectful and thoroughly enjoyed t

Good morning 4DEL parents, Welcome back for Term 4 of 2022...can you believe how fast the year has gone!  I thoroughly enjoyed my Long Service Leave...I spent lots of it driving to and from Busselton, cleaning out cupboards and enjoying being home with the fire whilst my dog lay on the couch...I have lots of photos on my phone of my dog being adorable whilst laying on the couch or coffee table and I can't delete a single one! I would like to offer my hugest and most sincere thanks to Mrs Gleeson and Miss Gilpin for their exceptionally hard work in my absence.  I have received a thorough handover from both Claire and Ness in regards to parent meetings and anything that came up during the term that I need to be aware of.  If there are any concerns or follow up needed on my end, I will be in touch in the coming weeks. I had such confidence knowing that they would keep things running smoothly and our beautiful kids would continue to thrive and work hard in class!  Thank you both so ve
