Week 7 Update!

Good morning,

Welcome to Week 7!

After a big post last week sharing lots of our great learning, I will keep it nice and simple this week.

Congratulations to Saskia Louw for taking our award this winner, it was a pleasure to award this one as Saskia has been working super hard and showing such a positive attitude...tough to do with only a few weeks left!

A Couple of Reminders...

Saint Vincent De Paul CollectionEach year at OLC we take time to be thankful for our blessings and to assist those local people in need by contributing to Christmas Hampers distributed by the St Vincent De Paul Society to families within our community.

Families in Years 4-6 are being asked to contribute items in the Christmas Goodies range!

These might include - treat items, boxes of chocolates, tinned fruit, non-perishable fruit juices, nuts, small gifts, pampering items, vouchers (Kmart, coffee, family activities etc.) or anything else that you as a family would love to receive during these tough times!

I will place a collection box in class for your items, I realise this is an expensive time for many families so any donation is gratefully received!

Thank you to those families that have already made a donation!

Walkie Wheelie Week - A reminder to make sure that you are walking or wheeling to school as many days as you can this week, the warmer weather coming will help make it more enjoyable!

The class with the highest number of walkers or wheelers will win a session with the Fremantle Dockers in Week 8...it'd be great if it was us!

Red Wednesday - The Bishop has asked for schools to recognise and pray for people of all faiths who are persecuted for their beliefs. The students can wear something red on Wednesday.

This may be a ribbon, wrist band, Leeuwin sports shirt or another red t-shirt with their sports uniform.

General Behaviour - With only 15 school days remaining before 4DEL 2022 is no longer, it is important that we focus on making the most of the time we have left together, enjoying each other's company.

We will keep working right up to the very end, so please support your child in making sure they are bringing their laptops to school charged for the day, their best manners and a positive and respectful attitude.

We have had some minor instances in the past week where some class members haven't been making the best choices in their words and actions.

Perhaps a check in to see how your child is doing and if they are noticing anything or feeling that they are being drawn into words and actions that they might not normally?

Additionally, if your child is having any problems, please do let me know and encourage them to reach out to have a chat.

We want to finish the year strong with care and respect being shown to all.

Enjoy the warmer weather, it is here at last! I hope it sticks around longer than a few days...!

Have a great week!

Mrs Delane
