Week 9...The Last One!

Good afternoon parents,

Welcome to the final week, if you are like me, I can remember October and then suddenly the term is at its end!

It has been a busy one here, I was lucky enough to head to the Player's night on Thursday down at Shark Park and then was also able to head to the Volunteers Breakfast on Sunday...had the best chat with Bob Murphy, he is one funny cat!

What a great opportunity for our town to have the players in, they were so appreciative of the opportunity to come and connect with their fans and were a pleasure to be around!

I would like to say the biggest and most sincere thank you to you as a parent group, you have been so supportive of myself and your children and we have had a thoroughly brilliant year as a group!

To see how much the children have grown and changed is such a privilege and I am going to miss them all very very much.

I wish you and your families, a enjoyable and restful break, I am sure we will see each other on the beach or around town between all the tourists!

Star Citizen - I would like to congratulate Marlee Adams for her Star Citizen Award at our Friday Assembly...I shared with the students on Friday the challenge that choosing these awards presents.

It was a great opportunity for me to remind them that just because they might not be publicly acknowledged with an award for this value, that it doesn't mean that I don't see it...we have many deserving people in our class!

A few, final reminders...

Books Home - Please make sure that your child brings a spare tote bag to school each day. We are still very much working throughout this week, but they will be taking home books and extra items as we finish up with them.

Christmas Concert - A reminder that we will be gathering for our Christmas Concert this Wednesday, 7th of December.

Please make sure that your child arrives at school by 4.45pm or so...we will gather outside our classroom and walk down together.

Once you have dropped your child off, please feel free to head on down to grab a piece of real estate to enjoy the festivities!

Mrs King, has sent you a message via the See Saw app with additional information, the students have been asked to wear Christmas colours and any other Christmas trimmings, such as hats, antlers, earrings, tinsel, etc. for this event.

General Wellbeing - As the term winds down, so do the energy levels of the students. As mentioned above, we will keep our class routines moving for the week to help the students manage those big end of term feels...if you can have a gentle chat with your child today about making sure that they are mindful of continuing to follow our classroom expectations as these are in place to help everyone feel cared for and respected.

It can be challenging when they are tired and worn out, ready for the break but if you can remind them that many of their classmates are feeling the same way and that friendship fires may flare up but with care, can be extinguished quickly!

If your child is particularly struggling with those big feels, please do reach out to let me know!

Many of them are excited to reach the end of the term but also sad to leave 4DEL as we know it...I know I am!

Again, I would like to thank you all for a great year! It was challenging at times but the students showed amazing strength and courage...they have done you proud!

I wish you a safe and happy Christmas and a very Happy New Year!!

Kindest regards,

Mrs Delane
