Welcome to Week 3!

Good afternoon parents,

Welcome to a wet and windy day beginning our week...my toenails did not get the memo that it would be wet and rainy!

Thank you for all the lovely gifts and flowers that came in on Friday to celebrate World Teacher's Day...I felt very spoilt and was reminded once again just how much I love these beautiful children!!!

This morning we had all of our beautiful grandparents to come in and visit. It is so lovely to see the interaction between the children and their grandparents...a really lovely morning kicked off with a beautiful prayer liturgy in which grandparents were celebrated for their wisdom, love and care.

We then welcomed our grandparents into class and the students had a lovely chance to complete some activities, show off their amazing work and take a cheeky selfie or two!

REMINDERS - WEEK 3

Assembly Week 3 - Assembly will begin at 2.10pm this week, as we have merit certificates, 2M presenting an item and the presentation of confirmation certificates. All are welcome!

Wheelie, Walkie, Waste Free Wednesday's - Thank you so much for the strong support of this initiative last week. It was amazing to see that so many students in our class were able to gain two points each to go towards our fight to win the free excursion at the end of term! I must say the students were so happy and focused on Wednesday, what a difference I little bit of exercise can do in the morning!

It is back on again this week. Please don't worry if you can't walk or ride to school, you can help out with your nude lunch (no packaging).

Socktober This Friday we will be holding a ‘Rock your socks off’ dance party during the lunch break for Socktober to mark World Mission Month with the theme "Do not Fear I am with You". Children and staff are invited to wear crazy socks and make a gold coin contribution on the day to raise money for Catholic Mission Australia.

Eagle Heritage Excursion - Next Thursday the 7th November we are heading off Eagle Heritage to coincide with our Information Report topic of Birds of Prey. By Thursday a note will be sent home with more information, as well as a week a permission slip.

We will be looking for 5 parent volunteers to come with us...if you would like to join us please indicate on the note. It will be a first in, best dressed situation and numbers are capped at 5. Our lucky volunteers will help us with taking the students around the park, collecting information and helping the students to fill out their booklets.

OLC's Got Talent Auditions - These will be held during the students music time with Mrs Nimmo on Monday. All students are invited to audition but DO NOT have to do so.

Whole School Mass - We will be celebrating a whole school mass beginning at 1.30pm. I will confirm next week if this is taking place at school or down at the church.

HOMEWORK - WEEK 3

4Champion Life Challenges - If you can encourage your child to complete at least one video challenge a week. This is a fantastic initiative which whilst increasing levels of physical activity also aims to inspire students through valuable life learning.
