Week 9 - Holy Week

Image
Good morning parents, Welcome to week 9 which is Holy Week, this is a very important time of the year in the Catholic faith as we remember and celebrate the events leading up to Jesus' death and resurrection. REMINDERS - WEEK 9 Holy Week Reflections - Each morning the whole school will be gathering together to reflect on the events of this important week. We will have a small and reverent reflection presented by each class in the hall every morning beginning at 9am. On Thursday 29th March, the Year 3 & 4 students will be presenting their reflection on the Resurrection of Jesus Christ. There are some children that have been given a speaking part, can you please make sure that you are practicing this with your child each night. I am working with them each day and asking them to remember that they need to watch the actors on stage to make sure they are in time with each other and to make sure that they are pausing during relevant times. Week 8 Update

Good afternoon Parents, Welcome to Week 8! REMINDERS   Easter Egg Donation - All families are asked to donate an Easter egg or bunny for the annual Easter Egg Raffle. This is a fantastic fundraiser for the school with all money being raised going to Project Compassion. Project Compassion Donation - It would be great if all of the students could find an extra dollar or two to donate to Project Compassion. We are only a little ways off the target of $500 that we set to raise during Lent. All donations are gratefully received! Holy Week - The Year 3/4 students will be sharing a reflection of the Resurrection on Thursday 29th May beginning at 9am in the Hall. We would love to have as many parents there as possible. All students are asked to come dressed in a simple costume reflective of the times of Jesus...think a small sheet and a tea towel. If they can wear their uniform underneath their costume on the day please. If needed, they can bring it to get changed into afterwar

Good afternoon Parents, I hope you enjoyed the weekend...after last one it felt a little short! REMINDERS - WEEK 7 Year 3/4 Buddy Mass - On Wednesday morning we will be walking down to the Church with our buddy class the Year 4's. We will share Mass with them and the parishioners of Our Lady of the Southern Cross. Mass will begin at 9.30am, you are very welcome to join us if you can.  Reading Books - Just a reminder that these are changed on a Monday morning . We ask that you read the book multiple times with your child...this helps them to become familiar with the text type and structure. It also helps them to gain confidence with their reading as they can identify familiar words. Holy Week - We will be coming together each day during Holy Week to share a reflection on one of the key milestones of this important time. The Year 3 students will be presenting on Thursday 29th March beginning at 9am in the Hall.  This is a combined effort between the Year 3 and 4 clas

Week 6 Reminders

G ood afternoon parents,  Hopefully everyone is rested and relaxed from our long weekend. I enjoyed Ed Sheeran...he was fantastic! With the short week I have decided to restrict homework to reading each night, Mental Maths Unit 6 including the completion of Days 1-4 and the 4 Times Tables being practiced out loud each night. I have made a video to watch to assist with the strategy for this week which can be accessed  here . This week we will be writing our own persuasive piece on a topic of our choice and I will send home a task to complete on this tomorrow. Thanks for your ongoing support, have a great short week!
