Year 4D OLC

Friday 29 th July 2022 KAYA! We have had a very busy first two weeks of term 3 and all students have settled in well. Thank you to those parents who have been in touch with us. Open communication is very important!   Uthando Dolls In keeping with OLC tradition, the children will be involved in the worldwide Uthando Doll project this term. Throughout this unit of work, the students will be working with a partner to stuff, sew, dress and accessorise a doll that will be sent to a child in need in the Kwazulu Natal community in South Africa. This project incorporates a range of outcomes from the Design Technologies curriculum, as well as fostering a sense of ownership in the students, with a focus on greater community needs. This project will run over the whole of Term 3 and will require parent help.   Term 3 Week 1 Welcome back to Term 3! We hope you have had a nice holiday.  I spent a week up north in Gnaraloo enjoying    lots of sunny beach days and Claire has bee n busy settling into her new house! Claire and I are looking forward to teaching your child this term. We have had a thorough handover from Caitlin who will be on a well-deserved long service leave break. Caitlin and Ben have established a fantastic collaborative teaching and learning environment and this will continue during term 3. Caitlin has gone through each child’s needs individually with us however please get in touch if you have any queries or concerns. Communication is critical and if there is anything happening with your child that will be beneficial for us please let us know as soon as possible.
