Week 5...What a Ride

Image
Good afternoon 4DEL Parents, I hope that you have had a good weekend...my footy tipping has been the bonus of what has been a very difficult week. Last week I was absent from class as I was home with my daughter who had tested positive for COVID after a school trip to Perth the previous Friday.   She's had a rough week with it for sure and I tested positive yesterday... I have to say I am feeling pretty rough and am very grateful for Netflix and Panadol! I will be absent from class this week and relief will be in to cover our class...Ben and I have been in close contact over the past week and he has been keeping me updated on well the students have been doing!  We spend a lot of time planning and prepping the term ahead so my relief will run the teaching and learning programs that Ben and I put together and he will keep me updated. I realise that this is not ideal and I am sorry that I am not able to be in class...I am looking forward to this week being over so I can get some stren

Week 4 Has Arrived

Welcome to Week 4! As always, I hope you enjoyed the weekend and your team won...whichever one you follow! There is a lot on this week so I will focus on reminders and keep it brief! Potato Art - Last week in Art we discussed how symbols can be used to represent things in pop art which is the topic that we are looking at in Art this term and how these symbols can be used repetitively to create a piece of art. We brainstormed different things that the students value and what symbols they may use to represent them - family, friends, sport etc.  They then spent the remainder of the lesson brainstorming their things of value and what symbols they could use to represent them.  Students were asked to take their art books home to finish working on their symbols, ready to carve into their potatoes to bring in to class tomorrow - Monday 16th May. The reason that we have asked for this to be completed at home under your supervision is because of the use of sharp knives or cutting implements - c

Welcome to another great week in 4DEL! I hope all our amazing mums enjoyed their day...it may have been big or small in your house but I hope that you took even a moment to do something that made you happy.  Thank you for all that you do to help your beautiful children turn up ready to learn each day. I would like to take a moment to welcome a new student to 4DEL this week.  We welcome the O'Dea family with Hamish being our newest member of the class and his parents Claire and Ryan .  We are looking forward to welcoming you as new members of the school and great  community. A couple of small reminders for this week... 4DEL Assembly - Please note that we will be hosting our assembly on Friday 20th May beginning at 2.15pm. All parents are welcome to attend.  In the coming days, we will begin practicing and your child will come home with their role...as a working parent I am all about simple costumes. The students are to wear black bottoms with a plain white t-shirt. COVID - As w

Week 2 Update

Welcome to the week...what another beautiful weekend.  I hope that for those of you involved in winter sports that everything got underway okay!  I thoroughly enjoyed sitting down at the club on Friday night after sorting the final bits for the Women to watch the Year 4's play...such a great vibe! Huge fan of the dinner options available as well!! I am not sure if you have already heard but Ben's partner's mum passed away on Saturday.  She had been very sick for a long time and it has been a difficult few weeks...this has unfortunately been compounded with Ben testing positive for COVID so he will be absent all week whilst he recovers and makes plans. I know the last few weeks have been really difficult for many people with illness and isolation and all the things that go with it...I am personally, just waiting and this in itself is tiring.  I hope that you all stay well...please let me know if you or your child needs any extra support. A few reminders for the coming days..
