Week 9 Update...How did that Happen?!

Image
Welcome to Week 9! I feel like it was week 4 and then suddenly we are looking down the barrel of 9 days left...what!  First Eucharist - We had the most amazing experience this morning celebrating Zoe, Jett, Tom and Keenan as they received Eucharist for the first time. They were so reverent, respectful and present and it was such a joy and privilege to be a part of this...absolutely blown away by them and their beautiful families! I had a number of people from the congregation come up to me after mass had finished to congratulate the children on their participation...including two lovely ladies down at Dome! We were also super lucky to have the amazing band support us today...the music was on point and added so much to the ambience of the morning.  So grateful to those students that gave up their Saturday night and Sunday morning to support us! Congratulations again to Jett, Zoe, Keenan & Tom!   As part of the service, the candidates read the following prayer which I have included

Week 8 Update

Good afternoon parents, It has been a lovely last couple of weeks preparing those students who will be receiving Eucharist for this first time this coming weekend.  The children have been absolutely amazing and have made this time such a joy!  I am very much looking forward to celebrating this special occasion with our Year 4DEL candidates and their families on Sunday 27th March! A few quick reminders for Sunday... Candidates (and families) are to come dressed in their Sunday best - white or light coloured clothing is most appropriate for this occasion as white symbolises that purity and being transformed. If you are unsure about your child's outfit - please feel free to send through a photo and I can let you know. Please make sure that you are seated in your assigned seat by  8.15am . Getting there a few minutes before will allow time for a few photos outside and to get yourselves checked in through the SAFE WA App. Please make sure that you are wearing a mask at all times. A rem

Good afternoon everyone! Welcome to the week...I know there has been a lot on this week, for those that were able to attend the enrolment masses, the Ukraine fundraiser or the OLC Car Wash fundraiser I hope that you enjoyed the weekend...what an amazing community we are a part of! There is a lot coming up in the next few weeks with basketball finishing up, footy, soccer and netball training starting up so please keep me in the loop if there is anything going on for your child that is exciting or potentially a little difficult! I would like to congratulate Kate Robinson for winning our Week 5 Star Citizen award and also Boh McLaren for winning our award card this week. The students are working so hard and it is super hard to choose each week but two very worthy winners!   A few reminders for the coming week.... First Eucharist - We will be celebrating this on Sunday 27th March with mass beginning at 8.30am . Those students that are making their First Eucharist are asked to wear white or

Welcome to Week 6!

Hello everyone, I hope that you have and still are enjoying this long weekend...what a gift in the midst of a difficult past few weeks! I came across this on the weekend and I will be sharing it with the staff as our staff prayer focus for this week as I felt it captured so many difficult feelings. A few reminders for the coming short week... Character Strength Focus - This week we are looking at the character strength of Forgiveness... Pope Francis says "If we do not strive to love and forgive, we will not be forgiven and loved either." WHAT IS FORGIVENESS? Forgiveness means to extend understanding towards those who have wronged or hurt us. It means to let go.  In many cases this is the letting go of some or all of the frustration, disappointment, resentment, or other painful feelings associated with an offense.  Forgiveness, and the related quality of mercy, involve accepting the shortcomings, flaws, and imperfections of others and giving them a second (or third) chance.
