Week 7 Update

Good morning, Welcome to another awesome week here in 4DEL...how good was it to have the day off yesterday? I hope that you all managed to fit in a little something that made you happy...we had some good walks over the weekend to check out the whale migration...how lucky are we?! REMINDERS - WEEK 7  Updated Homework Grid - I have made some changes to the homework grid. I will go through these with the students this morning to make sure they are clear on what to do. School Photos - As you know these will be on the 10th and 11th September. I am not too sure what time our class will be but I will let you know once I do. Stationery Check - Glue sticks are the biggest thing at the moment...no one has one! If you can please check in with your child to see what they are missing. Not having what they need causes a great deal on anxiety for the students as they try to keep up with instructions. OUR LEARNING - WEEK 6/7  We are still working through our text on whether country life is better

Good afternoon! What a cracking weekend we have had...Spring is in the air! Kids sport yesterday was absolutely delightful and how good is it to NOT have to have drying racks set up inside!! I swear it's the simplest things! A huge congratulations to our Star Citizen for Week 5, Freida Whitley! Freida was a very worthy recipient for our Star Citizen Award for our school value of Respect.                                  4DEL also outdid themselves in the Jumps and Throws that have been held over the past two weeks, there were some great performances from everyone but a special mention to our new student Isabelle Casas who cleaned up in the shotput! How good is that, she's been here 3 days and makes Interschool, well done! Great work Team 4DEL!! REMINDERS - WEEK 6 Sports Carnival:   Is on this Thursday 27th August beginning at 9am. Students are to wear their faction shirts on this day and please make sure that they pack plenty of snacks and water. I have spare notes in class if

Chemical Sciences Research Project & Presentation

Good morning parents, As part of our learning around our Chemical Sciences Unit, the students have been given today a research project in which they will be asked to look at the properties and materials of a chosen object. They will be given time to work on this project in class (beginning next week - Week 6) and at home as needed. Students will be asked to create a Power Point presentation that they will present in Week 9 and they will also be asked to conduct an experiment that shows one of the properties of their chosen object being tested. I have gone through the outline with both classes today and have given them a hard copy of the task outline. A digital copy has also been placed in their Science folder on One Note. I have also included the link here for you to peruse -  Chemical Sciences Research Presentation Whilst your support at home is always greatly appreciated, please make sure that the work is entirely of your child's own making. Kind regards, Mrs Delane

Welcome to Halfway!

Good afternoon parents, Welcome to the halfway point of what has already been a very busy term! I have secretly enjoyed the excuse to not go and watch Mark play footy this weekend as it is pretty cold and wet out there!! More time in front of the fire with Netflix for me...😊 I would like to extend a very warm welcome to the Casas family! Isabella and her parents have made the move from Kununurra recently and we look forward to welcoming Isabella into class tomorrow and her family into the OLC community! REMINDERS - WEEK 5 Blue Pens - This week we will begin transitioning in to being the Year 4 and a halves that we are and will start completing all of our written work in blue pen. If I can just ask you to do a quick check in with your child to make sure that they have a few blue pens still floating around in their pencil cases! Feast Day - OLC celebrated our Feast Day on Saturday 15th August...the Feast of the Assumption. Traditionally, we would have had a whole school mass and then

Today was a perfect day for settling in front of the fire after I had completed all my chores...loving this 20 days of footy! REMINDERS - WEEK 4 Throws and Jumps - These will be completed during our sports lessons over the next two weeks. If possible, it would be great if your child could wear their faction t-shirt on Thursday please. I am aware that some students will be competing in the State Cross Country Champs this week and this will mean that they will be doing their throws/jumps with 4DAN on Wednesday...totes get it...good luck to all our fabulous runners. Enjoy the opportunity and we can't wait to hear all about it when you get back. You can wear your sports uniform on Wednesday! Maths Test - Time - We have moved this to this Friday 15th August to give the students a little more time to work on calculating elapsed time and review their time telling skills! Good afternoon parents, What a fantastic weekend...it was warm and sunny and then the rains came to help fill up those rain tanks! I am currently curled up on the couch with a full belly after a delicious lunch out at Amelia Park Tavern...ready to watch the Dockers wave the WA flag! I won't lie...I am not sure who I will be cheering for?! REMINDERS - WEEK 3  Sprint Run Offs - This Wednesday 5th August we will be joining 4DAN in their sport time to help Mrs Sinclair put the students into the appropriate division for carnival day later in the term. Students will need to wear their sports uniform on Wednesday so they can run comfortably. Uniforms - As a parent myself I fully appreciate the difficulties in keeping on top of uniform days and haircuts. Just a couple of points to note for the coming weeks: Hair - for boys AND girls hair needs to be out of their face. It is fine to use bobby pins, gel etc. but please be aware that it needs to be able to stay that way for the
