Good morning parents, Welcome to the week...it is shaping up to be a little less busy than last week which is lovely! As I shared with you last week, yesterday I was called on to attend Jury Service. I was not picked in the jury for one case but I will need to return on Thursday to see if I am needed for another case...I am hopeful that I will not be chosen and I will return to school as soon as possible so that I can be here for our class photos.  Mrs Martin will be here in my absence on Thursday. I will let you know if I am required to be away any longer. A huge thank you to Mrs Anna Sidebotham and Mrs Sara Drmota for coming in to assist with our stall for the mission markets...they did an awesome job drumming up business and keeping the kids in line and we had a very successful stall! Thank you again to everyone who sent in donations for our prizes! REMINDERS - Week 6 School Photos - Is on this Thursday 23rd August. Notes were sent home last week,

Major Australian Place – Information Report At Home Research and Fact File due – Tuesday 14th August. As part of our learning in Literacy and HASS, students are being asked to choose a major place in Australia and write an information report on this place. Students will need to complete their research at home under the supervision of a parent and then turn this into a fact file. This ties into our Reading Comprehension strategy of finding the main idea and looking for important details. Students can choose from one of the following places or a place of their own interest. Shoebox Appeal - Operation Christmas Child

Image
Dear Parents, Over the coming weeks, the students in 3D are going to participate in an initiative called 'Operation Christmas Child' which aims to pack a shoebox to give to a child who has never received a gift before. This ties into our school value of Compassion as we are helping less fortunate children in need. The students in Years 3-6 will collaborate on collecting their donation items and we will come together as a mixed group to put the boxes together.  The following classes are responsible for the items listed below: Year 3M - Something to wear Year 3D - A personal hygiene item Year 4 - Something to draw with Year 5 - Something to play with  Year 6 - Something to love. In the coming days your child will be bringing home a note which indicates if they are bringing in an item for a boy or girl and what age. All students are asked to bring in $2.50 to help pay for postage. It would be great if your child could perhaps use their own pocket money to purchase
