Wow...it's Week 9 Already!

Good afternoon parents,

Welcome to Week 9...we made it! I feel like I was only saying to the students just a few weeks ago that we will need to stay present and enjoy the last weeks together!

This is a bit of a housekeeping blog so for those who love to see what crazy shenanigans I have been up to this weekend, you will possibly be disappointed so sorry about that! No MTB or sunset pics to be found in this one this week!!

However, a flying trip to Perth on Friday night to see Mark's parents who were down for the weekend was delightful and I got to rub shoulders with some of the cool kids in Perth...way to make you feel old!

Catching up with my dad and stepmum rounded out the day before heading home to enjoy the amazing concert at Happs...I have been most years and it is always such a delight to see the students in action.

It is also a wonderful community event and great to see so many people supporting our young crew to do what they love - a particular mention to Lyla, James, Billie-Rose and Imogen...you guys did a great job and I really enjoyed watching you!

A few reminders for the coming week...

Christmas Concert - As mentioned previously, the Christmas Concert is taking place this Tuesday 7th December.

It commences at 6pm, so please ensure that your child comes to class by 5.40pm. As a class we will walk down together and into our places, while you can find a nice spot on the hill to settle back and enjoy the show.

Class Auction - Delane Dollars - Over the year, students have been earning money that they can use in class to purchase items. On Wednesday, we will be having a class auction in which they can spend the remainder of their money.

There will be a couple of small food items - mini chocolate bars or icy poles but they will mostly be experience based or additional play time as the emphasis is not on sugar...just plain fun!

St Vinnie's Donations - A reminder that we are collecting Christmas food and decorative items...if you can please have them in by Wednesday, we would be very appreciative! Many families have contributed, however if you haven't as yet it is a great yet simple way to give back during the festive season.

Year 6 Graduation - This year for the first time, students in Years 3-6 will be involved in Graduation on Friday 10th December beginning at 9am.

Colour Run - On Friday 10th December the Colour Run will take place at beginning at 2pm. The students have been sent home with a form to raise money for new school and sports equipment.

These are due back by Wednesday please.

If your child has misplaced their copy, please let me know and I will send home a replacement!

It may be a good idea to also have your child pack a towel and a reusable bag for any wet or coloured items at the end as we usually end up soggy!

School Books - These will be coming home in stages this week.

Can you please make sure that your child has packed a reusable bag for each day to make life easier for all and to ensure that all is not left until the last day.

End of Term Cleaning -
We will be cleaning our drawers, tables and chairs on Wednesday morning at 8.40am.

If you are able to come in assist for an hour when you do drop off, I would be most grateful! There may be a chance for a little payback with a squirt of the hose or two if you're up for it!

Any spare buckets and cloths would also be a big help.

A Big Thank You! - I would like to round out my final post for this year with a very heartfelt thank you to you all as a parent group.

As I walk with your children during our days together in class, I hope that you realise these connections that we make bond us together forever. We are family and these kids will always be my kids.

I am so grateful for all that you have done to support your beautiful children to turn up every day ready to learn...this parent thing is a tough gig and I am super grateful for your efforts.

Additionally, I would like to thank the many of you that when able, have helped with excursions, our Uthando Doll project and all the millions of other ways I have asked for your help over the year. I am so blown away by the capacity to give that so many of you have!

I would like to wish you all a safe and restful holiday with loads of Christmas blessings and I look forward to seeing you on Tuesday night at the Christmas concert or on the beach!

With love and many thanks,

Caitlin xx
