Shoebox Appeal - Operation Christmas Child
Dear Parents,
Over the coming weeks, the students in 3D are going to participate in an initiative called 'Operation Christmas Child' which aims to pack a shoebox to give to a child who has never received a gift before. This ties into our school value of Compassion as we are helping less fortunate children in need.
The students in Years 3-6 will collaborate on collecting their donation items and we will come together as a mixed group to put the boxes together.
The following classes are responsible for the items listed below:
In the coming days your child will be bringing home a note which indicates if they are bringing in an item for a boy or girl and what age. All students are asked to bring in $2.50 to help pay for postage.
It would be great if your child could perhaps use their own pocket money to purchase the items needed so they have a sense of ownership in their contribution.
All items are to be no longer than 20cm long or too bulky as they will not fit in the shoe box. Think of if your item can be rolled to ensure that it fits into the box.
Your child will bring home a note which outlines what kind of items are suitable.
We are asking for all donations to be brought to school by Friday 7th September.
Please see below an example of the provided shoe box for Operation Christmas child:
We thank you in advance for your support of this excellent initiative!
Kind regards,
Mrs Delane
