Week 7 Update
Good afternoon parents,
Welcome to the week, the rain was unexpected this morning after such a wonderful weekend!
Shoebox Donations - If you can pretty please make sure that these items are in by Friday 7th September...this is such an amazing cause and all contributions are greatly appreciated!
Book Week Dress Up - I have had my husband busily sewing my costume over the weekend...I have gone for an old school classic this year in line with Mr McSevich and Mrs Ricciardone...if you only make one visit up to school this week I highly recommend you make it Thursday!
We ask that all students come dressed as a character from their favourite book ready to parade on Thursday after recess. If your child is able to bring their book as well, that would be great! They will be asked to explain their character during the parade.
Father's Day Breakfast - Can you please make sure that you have sent your RSVP in to Fran by Wednesday. We are asking all that attend to bring a cold coin donation.
Stop Motion Movie Items - If your child has not already done so, can you please remind them to bring in their items for their movie on Friday as we will be finalising these this week.
Reconciliation Parent Meeting Workshop - This will be held for 3D on Wednesday 5th September beginning at 6pm. Attendance at this meeting is compulsory for those students that are receiving this Sacrament. If you and your child are unable to attend, you will need to make an appointment with Fr Ian to go through the program.
Reading - If you can please make sure that your child is reading out loud to you each night. This is an important skill in helping them to decode unfamiliar words and to attend to meaning - this means that they realise that what they are reading may not make sense if they have changed/missed/substituted a word.
It is great if your child loves to read whilst they are getting ready for bed and I strongly encourage this reading for pleasure...please make sure that both is happening.
Spelling - Students are to complete a LCWC of their list words for the week.
Sight Words - If you can please work with your child to complete these every night.
Mental Maths - Students are to complete Days 1-4 of Unit 26. This is marked daily in class each morning. Please make sure that the Think Box section has also been completed.
Times Tables - Activity Sheet - 6 Times Tables.
Some students have chosen to take their information reports home to catch up as they would like to get them finished this week. If normal homework doesn't get completed during this time that is fine.
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact me.
