Week 6 Update

Good morning parents,

 Hello and welcome to another fantastic week here in 4D...I hope that you enjoyed the beautiful warm weather over the weekend. The beach was amazing and regularly remind me that I am blessed to live in one of the most gorgeous places in the world!!

 A huge thank you to all of the amazing parents and grandparents that have made themselves available to come in and help us create our Uthando dolls.

 Last Wednesday we met the ladies from Bunbury who will organise our dolls to be sent to the children. It was fascinating to listen to them explain just how they will get there...once they get to Perth they will be sent to Fremantle and then they will be packed into the smallest corners of a very large ship that is heading that way and generously discounts the price of transport. Our dolls will be among the 3000 that will be sent over to brighten the lives of children.

 We had a lovely afternoon tea in which the students could show off their dolls to their parents and the Bunbury ladies! A very big thank you to those that were able to make it! A big thank you to Mrs Martin for all her hard work and organisation!



REMINDERS - WEEK 6

Vinnies Hamper Appeal - This excellent initiative is once again up and running in 4D and is an excellent opportunity for our children to show the spirit of Jesus. We are asking for donations of toiletries - thinking toothpaste, toothbrushes, wrapped soap packets, sanitary pads, hairbrushes, hair lackeys etc. These will all be boxed up by the Year 6 students into hampers that will be delivered directly to families in Dunsborough that are doing it a little tough! Your support is greatly appreciated.

 Fire Drill - Tuesday 26th November - Just a reminder that there was an important email sent out last week outlining the plans for this afternoon. Please check in to make sure you are ready for this.
HOMEWORK - WEEK 6

1. Reading - Students are to read for 15 minutes each night. Please encourage them to read out loud to you at least twice a week.
2. Mental Maths- Complete Unit 34. All sections are to be completed by Friday.

3. Spelling - LSCWC Sheet. These are to be completed by Friday.

Week 9...The Last One!

Good afternoon parents, Welcome to the final week, if you are like me, I can remember October and then suddenly the term is at its end!  It has been a busy one here, I was lucky enough to head to the Player's night on Thursday down at Shark Park and then was also able to head to the Volunteers Breakfast on Sunday...had the best chat with Bob Murphy, he is one funny cat!  What a great opportunity for our town to have the players in, they were so appreciative of the opportunity to come and connect with their fans and were a pleasure to be around! I would like to say the biggest and most sincere thank you to you as a parent group, you have been so supportive of myself and your children and we have had a thoroughly brilliant year as a group!  To see how much the children have grown and changed is such a privilege and I am going to miss them all very very much. Week 8 Update

Good afternoon parents, Welcome to the end of Week 7, it was a busy one for us in 4DEL as we finalised some assessments and enjoyed a smooth week of learning. I unfortunately ended up leaving early yesterday as I seem to have picked up this virus going around...thankfully it isn't Covid and I am hoping a day on the couch today will help send it packing! My daughter Ella, is competing in the State Championships in Basketball up in Perth and I'm a bit devo I can't be there...something I am working hard on is accepting the things that I cannot change, this appears to be one of them. I hope you are all well, I have had a few students share with me some things going on with sickness and things just being a bit tough...if there is any way that I can help, please do let me know! We have a pastoral care freezer for just these things! Congratulations to Emme on receiving our Merit Award last week, an absolute legend who just keeps on keeping on! Week 6 Has Arrived!

Good morning parents! I hope you are all staying nice and warm in this very strange weather...I have no idea what is going on with it! One minute it's warm and sunny and the next I'm reaching for the trackies and ugg boots!  I hope you all enjoyed the day off yesterday?! We had a great PL day yesterday looking in more detail at the Judging Standards created by the School Curriculum Authority. These are the documents that we use in conjunction with our professional judgement, your child's See Saw journal and work completed in class to determine grading for our reports.  We then finished the day throwing some rocks at the Dunsborough Country Club...under Neil's watchful gaze, I proved to be not a very good lawn bowler and a person who has no concept of medium pace...who knew??  We also farewelled Miss Cain on Thursday, the students were very sad to see her go and she was so sad to leave them...she had a warm and positive impact on the students in her time in 4DEL and we w
