Week 5, Term 2

Good evening everyone, Apologies for the delay in getting this post out to you...we were without power until 2.15 today which was a challenge to say the least. The kids were beyond amazed that we could actually continue learning things without our laptops! Who knew?! The weather was certainly interesting today...I find it so hard to believe that Mother Nature knows the exact start, recess, lunch and end of day time for every school in the world! On cue, she lets us know that the earth is thirsty...!  I came across this image yesterday and those of you that know me well will know that I am all about a positive quote or affirmation! I feel these pop up when we need to see them. This is one that I will be sharing with the kids in class this week as I feel it is so relevant for all of us...everyone needs help sometimes and it takes such courage to ask for it. I know this is something I struggle with a lot!! I have printed this one out and stuck it on my fridge. REMINDERS ...

Week 4 is Here!

Good evening parents, I hope that you have enjoyed the gorgeous weather put on this weekend and were able to spend a small moment in time resting and refilling your parent cup! So far this term has had me feeling a little like this...as you may be aware...I was away last week with some nasty pain and general feelings of not goodness. These unfortunately carried over into the weekend and I spent the weekend in the very fine hands of the staff at Busselton Hospital.  I am home now with strict instructions to take it easy and a follow up with a specialist planned for this week. I am okay in terms of there being nothing major going on and lots of the scary things ruled out but I just need to get another couple of checks to be sure before I can get back on deck with my little homies.  I am so sorry to be away, it actually causes me great anxiety not being in class with you all, especially as we had just got the band back together! I am also aware that some of the student...

Good morning parents, Welcome to the week...a very Happy Mother's Day to all the amazing mummas of 4DEL! You are all amazing and I hope that you enjoyed yesterday's sunshine and were able to fit in a moment of two of something that filled your person cup.  Mrs Martin is in class for me today as I was unfortunately unwell over the weekend...I am hoping to be okay for tomorrow as I do not like being sick! REMINDERS - WEEK 3 Maths Test - On Friday 13th May, we will be having our assessment around our mental and written strategies for addition and subtraction. We will be having a review session on Wednesday and Thursday, so the students feel confident coming into it on Friday. Books returned - For those that have been working at home, please make sure that all books and stationery items are coming back in to class with your child. If I can also ask that you do a stationery check from your spares packet...a lot of students are missing glue, rubbers and scissors in p...

Welcome to Week 2

Good afternoon 4DEL parents, I hope you had a chance to enjoy the beautiful weather from yesterday and into today...I know it is going to change soon but I have loved it thus far! I would like to take a moment to thank you all from the bottom of my heart for the hard yards that you, the parents have been putting into your child's learning.  I have also appreciated the support that I have received coming back to school this week...I have said it before and I WILL say it again...you are an incredibly supportive parent group and I am so lucky to have you in these incredibly tricky times...so thank you! As the number of students coming back to school continues to rise, I have had to make some changes to our check in meeting times for maths and literacy in particular in order to cater for those in class and at home. I will currently have 15 students in class and as this number climbs, please note that I will need to look at the face to face time that my online learners will ...
