Welcome to Week 2

 Good morning parents,

Welcome to a beautiful week...the sun is out and I am feeling a little more motivated to tackle some of those jobs out side! I hosted half a dozen Year 6 boys at our place on Friday night so had a pretty quiet rest of the weekend...phew!

This was my Sunday morning, neither of us were overly inclined to move. I think it was because Charlie wasn't loving the new haircut that she had to get on Friday. Now it's a bit warmer those pesky grass seeds cause havoc in her long fur!

We had a fantastic trip to SMMC on Friday, I hope that you enjoyed your morning tea...I did! Those sausage rolls were amazeballs!

The kids enjoyed getting a taste of high school life and got to try some of the different activities on offer. We first went to Woodwork with Mr Ferguson and the kids had a chance to make their own cool little pencil holder which gave them the opportunity to use a rule, drill press and wood burny thingy!



From there we went off to Cooking with Mrs Codalonga, here the students had the chance to make a delicious fresh smoothie...I was lucky there were left overs!



Our last rotation took us into the brand new art rooms that have been built this year. We had a super fun activity in which the students got to make a pet rock....they had fun using a super cool resource called a Posca pen. These are paint pens...my daughter has been bugging me for some of these for ages. I can tell you that they are a much better option and much tidier than getting out all the paint and paintbrushes out. A lot less messy!



My mum appreciated my efforts!

* Please note that we will be continuing Walkie, Wheelie, Waste Free Wednesday all of this term...students are encouraged to continue riding/walking to school! All students that do so will receive a faction token!

OUR LEARNING - WEEK 1/2

In our writing session this week we have begun looking at procedure writing, this has provided a great opportunity to integrate our Eucharist preparations into our writing. We are doing some shared writing on a procedure to show how to receive the Eucharist.


Our religion learning has been looking at the story of Passover and the Last Supper. This ties in beautifully to our Eucharist preparations as each time we come together at mass and in receiving Eucharist we are remembering Jesus' last meal.


On Friday, we will be walking down to the Church for a tour with Fr Francis. He will spend time with the students showing them around the church and giving them a more in depth explanation of their history and purpose. We will also have the chance to complete some reflective activities which invite the students to deepen their knowledge around Eucharist. It will be sports uniform as normal!

We will be having our first Uthando Doll session this Thursday 1.45-2.45pm. A massive thank you to those parents that have filled their names into the roster. We are very grateful for your help.

A HUGE thank you to Lauren Heitman and her beautiful mum for their assistance in pre-sewing the dolls ready to be stuffed and started on Thursday!

Our maths learning this week will continue looking at mapping and grid positioning...we will be going old school and playing a bit of Battle Ship as practice so if you have the game at home, perhaps a good excuse to bust it out!

HOMEWORK - WEEK 2

  • Spelling - LCWC each night and 3 words into sentences. Please make sure you are marking their words each night. There was a lot last week that were unmarked and had repeated mistakes.
  • Tables practice
  • Champion Life - a challenge to be completed twice a week.
  • Reading - out loud 10-15 minutes each night.

Week 10 - The Home Stretch!

Good afternoon! The last week has arrived...I can't believe it either! Term 2 has been such a busy and productive time, the students have worked like troopers producing some amazing pieces of work! We are very proud of the learning habits they have developed and the maturity they are showing as we grow closer to Year 5. In saying this, it is time for a well-deserved break! REMINDERS - WEEK 10 Father Ian and Mr Wilkie Farewell Mass   - Tomorrow Father Tony Chiera will be celebrating Mass with us in the hall to wish Mr Wilkie and Fr Ian a happy farewell and retirement. The mass will begin at 1.30 pm and afterwards there will be an afternoon tea for the parents and parishioners to share together. Week 9...The Last One!

Good afternoon parents, Welcome to the final week, if you are like me, I can remember October and then suddenly the term is at its end!  It has been a busy one here, I was lucky enough to head to the Player's night on Thursday down at Shark Park and then was also able to head to the Volunteers Breakfast on Sunday...had the best chat with Bob Murphy, he is one funny cat!  What a great opportunity for our town to have the players in, they were so appreciative of the opportunity to come and connect with their fans and were a pleasure to be around! I would like to say the biggest and most sincere thank you to you as a parent group, you have been so supportive of myself and your children and we have had a thoroughly brilliant year as a group!  To see how much the children have grown and changed is such a privilege and I am going to miss them all very very much. Week 8 Update

Good afternoon parents, Welcome to the end of Week 7, it was a busy one for us in 4DEL as we finalised some assessments and enjoyed a smooth week of learning. I unfortunately ended up leaving early yesterday as I seem to have picked up this virus going around...thankfully it isn't Covid and I am hoping a day on the couch today will help send it packing! My daughter Ella, is competing in the State Championships in Basketball up in Perth and I'm a bit devo I can't be there...something I am working hard on is accepting the things that I cannot change, this appears to be one of them. I hope you are all well, I have had a few students share with me some things going on with sickness and things just being a bit tough...if there is any way that I can help, please do let me know! We have a pastoral care freezer for just these things! Congratulations to Emme on receiving our Merit Award last week, an absolute legend who just keeps on keeping on!
