Week 8 Update

Image
Good afternoon, What a weekend...how good is the sun and heat but not the march flies!! I have had a lovely weekend away with the family down in Margaret River as a motivator for getting my reports completed.  Our day started with a great coffee from Hot Choc (obvs!) before we headed off for an epic mountain bike tour with Margaret River Mountain Bike Tours...heading through Boranup Forest, how lucky are we !  I had never been mountain biking before but now I certainly get the fascination...I will say though, thank goodness for e-bikes.  How fun are they?! It was technical and scary and hot but so much fun...felt like a kid again! There were a couple of hairy moments where I got a little over confident and I am grateful I'm not sporting any other injuries besides the march fly bites! After getting a little dusty and dirty we headed off to Gnarawary Cabins for the night...like half the town we headed down to watch the sun go down at Prevelly. What a beautiful spot! This wa...

Week 7 Is Here!

Good afternoon parents! Here's to another week...the weather is definitely feeling a little Melbourne like with all the season in one day! Grateful for the rain coming down to give the gardens a big drink though! On Saturday Amie Meyer, Isobel Christie and myself, attended an online PD run by Rebecca Perkins of My Special Child. She is a specialists in supporting neurodivergent children with a focus on ADHD and Demand Avoidance. This gave me a fantastic opportunity to gain a better understanding of the struggles that children with specific learning difficulties, diverse needs or behavioural challenges may experience and how I can best support them to achieve their full potential within our classroom.  It was very informative and I was super grateful for the opportunity to broaden my knowledge and skill set. A few reminders for the coming week... Lunchtime Funtime - This week and the remaining weeks of term, Mr Torrese will be coordinating a couple of different activities for t...

Week 6 Is Here!

Good afternoon! What another beautiful weekend!  I was lucky enough to spend my time doing all sorts this weekend...I went down to check out the AFL 9's Competition on Friday night and it was so great to see so many people out there playing and having a ball...a perfect evening for footy! If you are keen to play, head on down...the teams always seem to need an extra player! Saturday saw me sitting in the Emergency Department with Ella for most of the day...it turns out when she's still complaining about the finger V basketball injury from her game on Monday that there is a strong chance it may be broken!  A visit to the Hand Clinic is on the horizon for us and hopefully the suggested 3 week hiatus from basketball is adjusted to missing no games at all!! Sunday was all about the pooch walk, hanging out with my mum who had braved the traffic to come and visit, coffee and washing on the line....my nan would say it is a perfect drying day! I am hopeful the weekend ...

Welcome to Week 5!

Good afternoon! Can you believe that it is Week 5 already! I swear it was Week 3 of Term 2 about 5 minutes ago! Hopefully the weekend has been restful and given your families a chance to recharge and reconnect ready for another great week! There was lots happening last week...celebrating our first OLC Wellbeing Week was fantastic and hopefully gave the students some ideas about things they can do to help ensure they are feeling happy and good on the inside and able to cope a little better when things feel difficult or hard to overcome!  This was the short and sweet theme of our assembly from Friday and I feel the kids nailed it! I have uploaded the video to our 4DEL Teams page if you missed it or wish to re-watch. The kids did an awesome job and really embraced the message and did us all proud! Over this week, we also had the opportunity to participate in some guided breathing sessions as a whole school which brought a lovely calming energy to the day. As a class we also had a...
