Week 7 is Here...Over the Hump!
Good afternoon everyone!
Welcome to the week...I know there has been a lot on this week, for those that were able to attend the enrolment masses, the Ukraine fundraiser or the OLC Car Wash fundraiser I hope that you enjoyed the weekend...what an amazing community we are a part of!There is a lot coming up in the next few weeks with basketball finishing up, footy, soccer and netball training starting up so please keep me in the loop if there is anything going on for your child that is exciting or potentially a little difficult!
I would like to congratulate Kate Robinson for winning our Week 5 Star Citizen award and also Boh McLaren for winning our award card this week.
The students are working so hard and it is super hard to choose each week but two very worthy winners!
A few reminders for the coming week....
First Eucharist - We will be celebrating this on Sunday 27th March with mass beginning at 8.30am. Those students that are making their First Eucharist are asked to wear white or a light coloured shirt and come dressed in their Sunday best.
Due to Covid restrictions, we are asking all families to restrict their numbers to 10 family members only, including the candidate.
Easter Egg Raffle - As one of the many amazing initiatives of the P&F we are collecting donations of Easter eggs to be used to create baskets to be raffled off!If you can please bring these in by the end of next week to allow them to be all put together that would be great!
World Down Syndrome Day - As a school community we will come together to share this day to celebrate our uniqueness.
Students are asked to wear crazy socks on Monday 21st March and bring a gold coin donation if you can. Thank you for your support of this amazing initiative!
Our Learning - Week 7
This week we will be working on our character descriptions which is super exciting...we will begin in the I Do model to give the students a sound example before moving into the We Do step where we will create one together before the students move into writing their own.
In maths we will begin an investigation which brings together our learning around units of measure in which the students will work together to hypothetically set up a stall in which they will sell friendship bands.
We will be looking at the parts of the mass in more detail in our religion lessons this week in which the students break down the Liturgy of the Eucharist in more detail in preparation for Eucharist later this month
Homework - Week 7
We are back to full steam ahead this week with times tables and reading to be completed, marked and recorded in One Note. Thank you for your support with this!
Wishing you a fantastic week!
Mrs Delane
