Week 3 Update

Welcome to another great week in 4DEL!

I hope all our amazing mums enjoyed their day...it may have been big or small in your house but I hope that you took even a moment to do something that made you happy.

Thank you for all that you do to help your beautiful children turn up ready to learn each day.

I would like to take a moment to welcome a new student to 4DEL this week.

We welcome the O'Dea family with Hamish being our newest member of the class and his parents Claire and Ryan

We are looking forward to welcoming you as new members of the school and great  community.

A couple of small reminders for this week...

4DEL Assembly - Please note that we will be hosting our assembly on Friday 20th May beginning at 2.15pm. All parents are welcome to attend.

In the coming days, we will begin practicing and your child will come home with their role...as a working parent I am all about simple costumes. The students are to wear black bottoms with a plain white t-shirt.

COVID - As we are all so very aware it is still out and about, please do let me know if your child or a family member tests positive.

As I mentioned last week, this is to resolve any absences so you are not bothered by texts from the office and also so I can check in to see how you are doing and if there is anything you need.

One of the positive sides of COVID has been the amazing support extended when families are in need!

The majority of our class work is placed on One Note for your child to complete if they are well enough or if you are well enough to assist them if they need it. For most families it is seeming to be a fairly short time so I can always work with you to catch them up once they returned.

Hero Project - In class this week we will begin our Hero Project with your child being given their outline.

In the coming days, I would appreciate it if you could take some time to discuss some options for your child to choose from.

The only proviso is that it must be someone they know and can get in touch with to talk directly to.

They will then research and share why this person is their hero and an inspiration to them, also looking at their character strengths and how they use them.

Further details around this will be shared with the students later this week and they will work on this in class and then will share their Hero with their classmates in a presentation later in the term.

Homework - Week 3

We had a pretty good start to our Homework set up for this term, i did have a large number of students that didn't bring it in on Friday.

Your support in helping them to get this to me is greatly appreciated!

Reading - Your child has a paper copy of their reading log that has been glued into their Homework Books. In it, they are asked to write their book in and answer a question related to the book that they are reading.

They have been given a copy of the questions and glued it into their books - they can choose a question that appeals to them and there are options for fiction and non-fiction books.

Times Tables - This remains the same as last term, again a copy of the set up expectations is on the Welcome section on One Note.

Please make sure that you are marking them particularly on a Monday so that your child is getting them correct straight off the bat!

All homework is due in on Friday.

I hope you all have a fantastic week and stay healthy!

Kindest regards,

Mrs Delane
